HOPE
Kim Jung Man
Public Media Art
2021. 8 | COEX
Utilizing the entire media façade of COEX Artium, the media art piece <HOPE> is a motion graphics work that reinterprets the <Le Monde> series—capturing scenes of nature such as the sea, desert, and flowers—through the unique visual perspective of ARTICA
At the heart of the work is the calligraphy of renowned photographer Kim Jung-man, conveying a message of hope in an era of change. His words serve as a window of hope for urban dwellers, inviting them to envision a new world.
A key element of the experience lies in sensing the artist’s long and patient observation of nature—waiting for the perfect moment to capture its essence—and appreciating how ARTICA has reinterpreted this vision through dynamic and layered motion techniques. This interplay adds depth and meaning to the viewing experience.
Public media art infused with Artica's unique perspective on the photography of Kim Jung-man. An art crew ARTICA presented a special media art exhibition based on Kim’s photographs and calligraphy from July 9 to September 8, 2021, across the COEX Artium façade, Media Tower, and Xpace Edge Column in Samseong-dong.
This collaboration between Korea’s top-tier media art group and the renowned photographer and film poster director offered audiences an unprecedented digital convergence experience, both locally and globally.
